What I'm Reading
In my post about turning 27, I said that I wanted to read 27 books this year. I'm ashamed to admit it, but that would be 27 more than last year. Okay, maybe like 25 more than last year. Still, pathetic! I figured the best way to keep myself accountable is to share with all of you lovely people what I've been reading each month!
Disclaimer: I don't know how to review books, but I do know how to type thoughts that pop into my head!
Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling | I have a thing for books written by my favorite female comedians. I loved Yes Please (Amy Poehler), I loved Bossypants (Tina Fey), I loved Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (Mindy Kaling). I couldn't miss Mindy's second book! When I cracked it open, I discovered that I got it for Christmas in 2015, shortly after it came out. I also discovered a $25 Fandango gift card that I can't use in the UK. Bummer. Anyway, it was both funny and compelling. I'm a sucker for celeb gossip, though, (like Mindy!) and I enjoyed Googling who she was actually talking about in some of her stories. She's in a different place than she was in her first book. She's now the showrunner for her own show instead of a writer and self-proclaimed tertiary character on The Office. (I would have thought Kelly Kapor was a secondary character.) Now that news has broken about her pregnancy, I'm hoping more than ever she'll write a third book! Also hoping that BJ Novak is the father, but that's neither here nor there.
I'm currently reading Rising Strong by Brené Brown.
Give me some great book recommendations in the comments below. Pretty please!
